Agreed. I respect our troops, but think about this. The US government essentially forces a civilian plane to carry their soldier as cargo; is there not a better way? Isn't it arguably disrespectful to not use a military vehicle to transport the soldier home? The obvious answer is it would be more expensive to do so. But it is irrational for the government to thrust this soldier's coffin into the lives of a couple hundred ordinary citizens trying to go about their business and expect them to drop everything to pay respects.

@astronitium2781 Of course, but none of them are because Uncle Sam wanted to honor their fallen. Sorry, I just don't see the cargo hold of an AA flight as a respectful place for a dead body.

@SomeTheorist9090 what you're talking about is social justice, not "restorative justice," and the only thing it bears fruit to is more violence. no guilt free person will feel justified by having wrongs done to them for the crimes of people only tangentially related to them. forgiveness is what ends the cycle of violence, not more violence. ghandi would be distraught at the state of young "tolerant" people today. the nazis first used the term social justice to describe what they did to right perceived crimes of the Jewish population
