That, and the interviewer plays a part. This guy likely saw this person, a walking, talking stereotype, and thought to himself "Oh boy, this is gonna be good."

@tesladrew2608 Because you didn't study Reconstruction in grade school history. Not our problem, unfortunately.

@blackjackjester that would mean she was an infant, or at best, a toddler when the family moved away, the Soviet Union stopped existing in 1991 it's a lot like Mr. Soros claiming he lived through the holocaust when in reality, he was a child living in total safety because his very rich father paid off some German officials to look the other way and did nothing for the community

@ThomasSawyers The "scary" part that you will never accept is that at least half the nation supports Trump, and likely it will be more thanks to this clusterfuck. That's a lot of normies. You must accept that normal, well adjusted people support Trump to have any chance at affecting politics, but you can't because it destroys the entire narrative you've created for yourself. Good luck with that champ.

@septimus7524 I would say that it is less about centralization principally and more about the fact that northern states were being represented more in Congress due to being population centers. Legislation against slavery, while good in principle, was just one part of that trend. From the Southerners' perspective, Congress and the executive branch were basically all conspiring to ensure they wouldn't get any more influence or wealth. Which is a shame, because the charters drawn up for the Confederacy were, honestly, laughable and far less free than the Union they set out to replace. It was a tragic war all around.

@kateofone Extremes are entirely subjective and shift with the times. Trump would never have been considered extreme until he ran for president
