It's a contract designed so that someone will be there to tend the lands a lord owns.

In R6S I've heard guys literally scream into the microphone every time someone else peeked a corner, because he ran ahead of the team and died first and blamed everyone else for that. And this has happened more than once. Xbox Live in the 360 era was honestly a high point in shit-talking, especially Call of Duty lobbies because there was 30+ seconds of waiting even after you'd been matched with some of the players, so players did it to pass the time. Unless you frequented a particular server on a PC game with people who liked to talk shit, it wasn't a regular occurrence in prior games or most other platforms. died first and blamed everyone else for that.
