@Turbo-DF I choose not to care. I like to study history, and one thing remains common throughout all of human history: The average person never has any real say in what's happening. I'm not a billionaire, so I have the luxury of not caring. My interest in current events is academic. It's interesting, but I'm under no illusion that I can make an impact. At first glance, my perspective looks like nihilism. But I'm not really nihilistic; I enjoy living. I just remove the things from my life that I have little to no control over. Less stressful that way.

@Turbo-DF The tears of rage have long since dried up. For most, we've moved past the stage of acceptance. It's sad to think about, like a pet who died long ago being sad, but it's something you get over. Society is not going in a good direction for romance and most studies reinforce this hypothesis. All I can say is, if you're a Darwinist, you'd better hope that women choose the right men. Because the way our dating scene works now, our future rests entirely in their hands, unless we can perfect artificial wombs. You can insult me if you'd like, but you, like me, are just coping with the death of modern society rearing its ugly head. It was inevitable anyway. Empires fall, it's just the way of humanity.

@Turbo-DF That is one of the major sources of motivation I have in life. You can improve yourself, if you have the drive. Getting the drive is not always easy, though. Always start small and do those things consistently. It's not unlike building a pyramid. The thing you truly want can only be reached at the top, but it takes a fair bit of effort for you to build the habits to get there. One of the things I was most proud of was joining a martial arts gym a few years ago. I am an introvert, I knew no one there and I am also a computer nerd; I had every excuse to not participate. But I did, everyone was very friendly, and I bettered myself for it.

@Dianruakrhakakks I mean... kinda? What do 80% of men do when women all compete for the top 20%, according to dating app statistics? Are they supposed to just suck it up and be miserable? Or is that not enough, you'd have to shame them for fucking robots and dolls too?

Wrong, most of the sex workers in Cyberpunk are ugly. That game has the most cognitively dissonant narrative regarding sexuality. All of the sex workers get cyberware but none of them actually do so to make themselves look more attractive. Look at the top Instagram models and such. That's how they would mod themselves to look like. You can't even mod your skin color in that game which blows me the fuck away. If we really lived in a society like Cyberpunk you'd see every possible type of body, including people that make themselves look like children even though they are above the AOC. Think Rebecca from the anime. You know it to be true. But they didn't want to touch on that particular topic for some reason. Game devs always chicken out of the heavy shit even though they claim that they're writing a dark and mature narrative.

@Walrus101 Problem is there is almost no incentive to work harder to find the right person. It's basically a gamble. The stakes are your time -- and your money too. The potential reward is a partner who you will enjoy spending the rest of your life with. That potential reward seems like more and more of a joke as time goes on. People like you who admonish others and say "you're sad, just try harder and get lucky" offer no platitudes or comfort. My time is more valuable than being spent on strangers. It used to be less of a gamble, but we have thoroughly convinced ourselves that romantic life in the past was wrongbad and what we do now is rightgood. Don't compromise, just "be yourself" has always been bullshit. Real relationships take work and meeting in the middle, even I understand that. This inevitably changes both people. But the amount of work needed has only increased over time.
