Yeah, this is in no way a controversial statement for men to make. The fact that she is shocked (or feigns shock) that someone would comment this shows she severely lacks perspective.

@Unfortunately_Mickey Your story is highly ironic, considering that society is waking up to the massive waste of money spent on 4-year degrees. I'm a software engineer myself and I would say that the meaningful parts of my education could have fit in half the time I spent at college or less. A lovely fairy tale, regardless.

@Dandoskyballer That is not nearly as simple as you make it sound. Very often the other parent will villianize the step-parent, sometimes without them even truly knowing. Glad it worked out for you. Weird that you think it works out for everybody.

And the weird thing is that there are just as many moms who feel the same way. There is one decent enough way to ensure that the new spouse gets invested. Promise them another kid.

@moomoocowsly Child support? It's funny that these relationships have a quantifiable monetary cost, to say nothing at all of the intangible spiritual cost should things go wrong, but you ignored both of them to virtue signal.
