@vixxcelacea2778 Ravenclaw definitely strikes me as more introverted and Slytherin more extroverted... if you're charming and ambitious, chances are you are an extrovert.

@Ryotbh Well, all schools have "honors classes" and such, it isn't as if it would be realistic to expect that Hogwarts doesn't discriminate based on academic and magical ability, even if they are slightly more subtle about it than public schools. Average wizards need education too. Furthermore having the most wizards in a house is its own virtue. I'd expect that Hufflepuff members would be willing to do the "dirty work" of Hogwarts, for the satisfaction of doing it, rather than any glory or other accomplishment that members of the other houses would expect. Hufflepuff strikes me as the underappreciated but extremely necessary supporting pillar of the school.

@Jackerson They're called Hufflepuff because that's what you'll be doing when you cross their homies. They pull down their pants and you huff and puff.

@amuro9624 "It's kinda like how most people don't want to play a basic hero if they can play a character that's more morally gray." You would be very surprised. In D&D, for example, a plurality of players have always played a Human Fighter. In fiction, when the character isn't a reflection of you, it's different. Harry Potter is Gryffindor because he should be outstanding in some way to appeal to the biggest audience. And people expect the hero to be courageous.

@amuro9624 I am fairly sure a huge majority of people who play D&D play good characters. Most people are incapable or unwilling to roleplay an evil character, either because they know they can't do it well or they find it distasteful. Another reason is that it becomes very difficult if any of the other players wants to play a good character. I agree with most of what you say though, all of the houses except Slytherin are represented as "good" houses. I think this is more of a failure/neglect on JK Rowling's part than anything. A brave person can definitely be malicious. Loyalty can be malicious as well; just look at any organized crime syndicate. I'd expect a mafia of wizards to be Hufflepuffs. And as for Ravenclaw, well, the potential for mad science there is quite obvious. Ambition is a very obvious route to malicious intent though.

@maxKP51 Well, by that logic, curiosity should also be standard, because if you're not curious why did you go to school

@IncubiAkster "one of the best animations ever made is cringe" OK. Say what house do contrarians get sorted into? Ravenclaw or Slytherin?
