@esRaortiz You say that as if Samus didn't have in-game bikini art. Most of these characters have fan service including Yennefer. The only exceptions are Zelda and I think maybe Jill but I'm probably forgetting something. Also, I don't know who Lilith is referring to specifically.

@tarkamlokar9709 Fable was never about "believable stories." Quite the opposite, they intentionally evoke a fairy tale aesthetic. I mean, look at the title of the franchise.

He was clearly thinking of the fat neckbeard image that was a huge meme back in the mid-late 2000s. Not the one where the guy is smiling and tipping his fedora, but the one where he is balding with glasses.

The ironic thing is that it's basically confirmed that this is a 1-to-1 model of someone at the developer's office. You can search up the photo yourself, but the faces look identical. So it can't be uncanny valley by definition because it's a real face, but that just shows how repulsive some find the face. I say this not as a defense, I just find it amusing. We should always acknowledge our weaknesses in life that we can't change. I was born with terrible eyesight. The government, in all its wisdom, allows me to get a driver's license, but I don't do that because it's a bad idea. By the same token, no one should have made this person's face the face of the MC, because everyone, in their ignorance that this is a real person's face, has proverbially opened fire with both barrels. I think all the devs have done is made that person feel even worse about themselves.

@jeffm1064 That's just what many people in Japan and Korea prefer. They're still marketing to a huge demographic, it's just not huge in the US. "Bishounen" or "beautiful boy" as they say in Japan.
