I haven't had an interaction quite THAT bad with Indian engineers but generally, their quality of higher education is bad and many of them emigrate here via exchange programs to get degrees and even then many of them struggle. If they live here, generally they're actually competent. If they're from the mainland... Good luck. Expect coding practices and frameworks that are 10 years out of date if not more. Expect "two steps forward, three steps back" types of releases and deployments with constant needs for hotfixes. Expect, if you are in a senior position, to constantly reiterate procedures and practices that they forget or don't care about.

@johnfinch621 University education for IT is a joke, even here in the US where many people travel because it's "better." I was the only person actually writing my capstone project which was a gamification app for incentives that some small business guy (who was woefully naive, I never ended up working for him even though he liked me because he literally told me about how dumb his business strategy was) was trying to pitch to other companies, aside from maybe a few lines of code. I can count on one hand which courses from my major matter in the field after 10 years of experience.

@jimmcneal5292 Libertarianism and the "free market" in general never envisioned a GLOBAL market or complete freedom of movement. It is utterly asinine to expect competing with Indian, Chinese or other peoples with low standards of living to make sense. It will only drag us down to their standard of living in the long term. The funniest part about this is that it will not work in the very long term. Eventually they will run out of poor people to import and everyone will have or demand a decent standard of living. They're just kicking the can down the road, typical yearly investment strategies.

@raulavila-t5u Haha, no, that 15 year old European kid forgets the other languages he learns when he graduates high school, including English. Just like us Americans do with Spanish. You aren't getting that bullshit past anybody.
