  3.  @Karsh.  You don't get to maps (endgame stuff) in PoE2 without understanding that item level doesn't matter and that item drops can have different tiers of modifiers on them. Primarily because you will be destroyed by the fact that you have no resistances. You will get hit by a single frozen orb or lightning bolt and die. The resistance problem alone will teach you to look at modifiers on an item, not item level. There are certain things item level DOES matter for, namely what unique will drop for a given item type, but if you get a level 50 item, especially a ring amulet or belt, that has tier 5 and up modifiers on it, it's likely a good item regardless.
