@BernasLL That makes no sense and ignores the fact that you can grow to simply not be embarrassed by completely mundane social interactions simply because you find them unusual or even distasteful. Doing this will help you socialize with more people. Being "cringe phobic," or morbidly afraid of social embarrassment, will only prevent you from socializing.

 @dominic2196 It can be funny in the right context. I have a friend who flirted with a 72 year old teacher at a funeral after party. She played along and thought it was hilarious.

@Ryan83728 Honestly, I'm inclined to agree. Nothing makes me scream internally when I browse dating apps like "I'm a huge fan of The Office and if you aren't we won't get along." In fact I think the reason why this rubs so many people the wrong way is that it feels like a company holiday party. The last company Christmas party I went to also had costumes even though nobody really does that for Christmas.
