@andresgarza8511 Those people are from the poorest nations close to the Mediterranean. They do it for the same reason Mexicans go to the US illegally -- to not live in a shithole. The Muslim culture shock is just a massive side effect.

@CheesusCrusts If you go into certain otaku boards/communities or where gaming/otaku cultures intersect (like 4chan/v/ for instance) you will see people unironically call WRPGs trash categorically. Same for some Japanese forums.

@ernestisom5878 Are you stupid? You're posting on a video about Final Fantasy. FF7 held the crown for biggest budget game for a very long time when it released. All the WRPGs from that same time period and before that are treasured as classics now were cult hits. Their sales did not even come close. Baldur's Gate, Fallout -- these were niche games in comparison, by a very wide margin. The Japanese were actually the first to break the glass ceiling of RPGs not selling well. Also, Elden Ring is definitely not what most people think of when they say JRPG, which is a very narrative-driven dialogue-heavy and character-focused game. Pretty much the opposite of what Elden Ring/Fromsoft games are. Not to mention half the point of those games is the Western European aesthetic
