@dethkicstart i try not to close myself off to anything, but personally, the only time i've had anything resembling a flirting encounter randomly was when i was at the gym and a girl and her friend walked by. her friend told me that the other girl thought i was cute as a joke. there was another guy with them (presumably relative/friend, by the way they looked) and he apologized for her. i find the tripe people spout about "just do things and women will come to you naturally" to be complete bogus. you do have to put in effort to find a date, it really does not just happen. i have a lot of hobbies and interests and it never just happens for me. if i followed that advice i would likely be alone until the day i die

@dethkicstart the conversation was a joke, my real point was that nobody goes to a library to talk to other people

@dethkicstart it's just a non-starter for me. i can't relate to most people, and i hate small talk because it's devoid of substance. i also have poor vision, so i couldn't, for example, see what book someone is reading from across the room and then get up and walk over there to talk to them about it. it's bad enough such that i cannot drive a car. i've had friends tell me that a woman was glancing at me before at a bar and i was never aware of it. all i can do is shrug my shoulders and pretend that it doesn't matter
