The greatest irony of the Commanders is that they changed their name and iconography to match the oppressors of the so-called "Redskins" that they replaced, which is to say white colonial military men. Then they patted themselves on the back and called themselves culturally sensitive. It's honestly mind blowing, I can hardly deal with it anymore without simply tuning out.

This guy is reviewing clips of shows he's never watched. I did watch MLP back in college (I like animation and my friend kept insisting that I watch it). Got through 2 seasons before I got tired of it, and became aware that Lauren Faust was producing it. She is the wife of Craig McCracken who made such classics as Dexter's Lab and Powerpuff Girls. In short the whole show felt nostalgic, it reminded me of the shows from my childhood. However it is unabashedly a show for girls and like 80% of the characters in the show are girls. But when Faust agreed to make it, she said she wanted to make a cartoon for girls that doesn't suck. I didn't watch this far into the show, but I'd be extremely surprised if there was a same sex relationship there. There are other episodes where the main characters have sleepovers and it's definitely not implied that they scissored or something. Just because they live in the same house doesn't mean they're automatically lesbians. There is virtually no romance in the show at all except for a couple of one off plots between side characters and they're all heterosexual. There is also a nearly explicitly anti-Communist episode.

@Proleet138 She wasn't reasonable the moment that she posted this online to try and "roast" this guy, or whatever she intended in her mind. I'm being charitable by assuming she didn't do this to try and push feminism, or as some kind of sociopolitical statement. Posting this publicly online is passive-aggressive behavior towards someone you hate. It's okay to be wrong, or even kind of a douche, sometimes. As long as it isn't your entire personality, it should be forgivable. It certainly doesn't deserve international scrutiny and ridicule.

He had been retired for over 20 years, though he was a champion in his heyday (the 40s). He was first challenged by Margaret Court, a 7-time champion in women's tennis at the prime of her game. She lost, badly. He was finally beaten by Billie Jean King in 1975, Court's closest competitor. She won most using smart tactics than anything else and by observing Court's loss. There were also rumors, backed by some testimonial, that Riggs threw the match intentionally to settle gambling debts with mobsters.

It was a scandal at the time, because Riggs disrespected women's tennis, and it was played up greatly to the point of absurdity (BJK entered the match on a litter carried by muscle men and Riggs entered on a rickshaw drawn by models).

@Jay-bq1dq Yes. Probably the stupidest thing Reagan ever did, and one of the reasons why I consider him highly overrated. To be clear, this is federally funded asylums. There still exists private asylum institutions. However mental health care is the one thing that should be state funded, because being mentally ill impacts everyone around you, unlike say, a broken leg.

It's a grift or possibly even a money laundering scheme. Much like modern art sales. The Clintons did something similar. They were paid handsome amounts by warlords, usually African, to "speak publicly." The payment wasn't really for them to speak publicly. It was a bribe so they would receive favorable political treatment.

@Rachel-wi3gl I hate to be "that guy" but the first thing women did with their newfound power after the 19th... was to enact Prohibition because of the Temperance movement and their emotional attachment to the idea of the alcoholic husband destroying the family. Thus plunging us into probably the worst epidemic of crime the US has ever seen. Trump is one thing taken in a vacuum. On the whole it's hard to argue that women have a good track record in voting. And the majority of women still didn't vote for Trump anyway...

@nanettegray9674 Based on statistics and probability. Most extroverts are not as good at analysis as introverts are. Hence they're often not as well equipped to understand why people act the way they act, but they get a false sense of confidence from being a "social butterfly" that tends to make them think they know how everyone works because they get along with many people. Really what they are doing is socializing a lot with their type of people, but they pay little mind to people who they don't like and ignore or ostracize them. On the other hand, for all the introverts' analysis, they will likely either not be able to communicate that, or they will be pessimistic about it because it was received negatively in the past.

@nanettegray9674 Firstly, you say the last sentence like it is a bad thing, when really you've just revealed again that you don't really understand how an introvert's mind works. You assume your perspective is the default "correct" one and that not having a conversation is inherently bad. Secondly, you're doing exactly what I described in my last post, you are taking offense and "othering" people you believe you will not click with, because you do not wish to analyze or accept self-responsibility. You've come here just to tell everyone off. It's an easy and convenient way to deal with people, to be sure. Sometimes I wish I could do it. It does get tiring thinking about edge cases all the time and trying to look for "weird" people to get along with instead of classifying them into neat boxes. This entire topic is about general trends, it is silly and immature to take personal offense when we both know that these two categories can't possibly describe every personality trait of a person.

I don't think I saw anyone saying that introverts are more valuable, just lamenting the tendency for others to assume that a lack of socializing equates to dislike or hatred. You equate the ability to overanalyze with value? That sounds like some kind of weird internal bias from your own introversion. I only wish to see the world for what it is, without insecure people being offended at their flaws, no matter what their personality type is. No one can move forward or improve themselves unless they acknowledge their own flaws. By grade level and career choice, I'm a pretty "smart" (at least, book smart) person. But I don't think intelligence is the key defining trait of a person's value. I value the company of manual laborers, they are often no-nonsense and have funny stories to tell. I value the company of farmers for similar reasons. To me, a different perspective is always valuable, but if your contribution to a conversation sucks, then you're boring. If you get offended when no one was clearly trying to offend you, you're annoying. It's really that simple.

It's funny how much this proves the horseshoe theory, at least as far as our domestic politics are concerned. Far left and far right both circle back to being unapologetically racist, all the time. All that changes is what specific group the racism claims to benefit. In this case, it is black people. The logical outcome of this line of thinking is a black version of Pol Pot, Hugo Chavez or Stalin. But in actuality, it never goes that far. Why? Because too many black people are dependent. It's a mindset doomed to hypocrisy and stagnation.

Because we have no reason to go to war over those regions yet. Is that not obvious? The moon has no resources and neither does Antarctica, beyond whatever R&D a nation is willing to perform in those regions. Quite infuriating when people willingly act like fools to support their foregone conclusions.

The problem is really because of COINTELPRO. This is an intentional smear, started decades ago, to make all conspiracy theorists look stupid by association and muddy the waters of legitimate conspiracies like emm kay ULTRA being tested in US soil on government employees. The sad thing is that we have too many idiots among us who can't see it for what it is and think that being contrarian on the internet makes them look smart. The left gets men who dress up like female clowns lecturing children in schools and we're stuck with flat earthers and moon landing deniers.

It was a reference to her aristocratic upbringing, not having to work in other words, and her naturally beautiful skin. Virtually every woman wants smooth, fair skin across the world, aside from race fetishists... it's what beauty product companies constantly market for.

I don't know how many men there were in total for the event described, but when you compare rankings of biological sex, men tend to surpass the #1 woman even if they're ranked hundreds below the male champion in other sports.

@AmonAnon-vw3hr It's not made up, but it IS an old and outdated way of classifying human genetics from the 19th century. Most of what we now refer to as race, is actually ethnicity. It's a muddy distinction but they are different.

I'm quite introverted and I have learned to "tolerate" small talk, in the way one tolerates paying their taxes every year, but I never initiate it. I enjoy in-depth interesting discussions which many people don't care for. If someone initiates small talk, I usually try to make the discussion deeper, if I can. If they show interest, that's usually an easy way to earn my respect.

@phav1832 Kamala doesn't actually believe any of this bullshit. She's cynically going along with the script to obtain power and money. This has been the playbook of most presidential candidates for the past 60 odd years. The reason why people like the woman in the video don't obtain power very often is precisely because they believe their own bullshit. She will be too frozen with indecision and guilt to actually take power in a position believing it should go to a nonwhite woman instead.
