I remember I knew about girls' and boys' anatomy when I was around 8 or 9, and asked how "it" works, my parents just looked at me like I was dumb and said "They fit together, son." I did feel dumb.

@connorgregory3986 The part I always get confused with religious parents who believe they're protecting them from topics like this, is how they think they're so omnipotent they know what their child is learning/who they are talking to at every given moment. You're just setting up the opportunity for them to learn something stupid from an unknown source by not teaching them yourself. It's the same thing with the idiotic abstinence policy sex ed we have here in the southern US. In high school our health ed class on sex was basically "Look at these disgusting photos of STD victims, don't have sex it's scary." And yet somehow our state is known for having the most teenage pregnancies. Teaching everyone that condoms aren't effective -- so don't have sex -- was clearly a great idea.
