BJJ and other martial arts simply aren't comparable to lifting and carrying someone dozens of yards. I'm a computer nerd and I practice at a BJJ dojo. I don't lift at the gym. I'm not going to pretend I'm one of the best students at the dojo in terms of fighting skill or submissions scored but I can perform every throw, reversal, etc that is taught without issue on men much larger than myself. It has almost nothing to do with raw strength and everything to do with leverage and center of gravity. If you rely on muscle, you become tired and the experienced grappler will see that you are muscling around and act defensively until you wear yourself out.
