Join us in the real world where we actually try to solve the root of the problem instead of one of the least-connected symptoms

America is one of the only places on the planet where an illegal immigrant can have a child and it is automatically a naturalized citizen. By virtually every measure, America has some of the most lenient immigration and citizenship laws of any nation on the planet. Many celebrities who complained about Trump and said they'd move to Canada, found out that actually, Canada didn't want them. They took our freedom of movement for granted. So that makes it rather unique. Can you prove that the violence is because of guns and not because of culture clash and conflict due to immigration? Japan, a nation with extremely strict gun laws and low crime, takes virtually no immigrants compared to ours... And yet the prime minister was assassinated... by a man with a gun... If even he can't be protected from guns in a no guns nation, can you? A man in Britain constructed a working automatic submachinegun in his garage that used standard-issue Sten magazines from WW2... And he did it all just to prove a point. The courts ignored him and sent him to jail despite the fact that he had no intention to use it.

@melsmith3662 You know nothing about guns. Calibre size does not equal kinetic energy. A .45 round from a 1911 has far less kinetic energy than a .223 coming out of a standard AR platform rifle.

@Jon_Bonds_Jovi Actually address mental health issues. Reagan defunded federal mental health in the 80s. We continue to ignore it, and if you have any mental illness, you're on your own. Many health insurance plans won't even cover it. If you snapped your fingers now and every gun disappeared from this continent, the same people would be stabbing, using bombs, driving vehicles into crowds like in Europe, etc. We'd still have a problem. And you'd just advocate for the banning of something else. It's a game, smoke and mirrors to make you vote for fraud politicians who enact these do-nothing restrictions. Stop being a pawn. They're not effective.
