  2. it's insane how so many have been brainwashed. the founding fathers were not actually in favor of slavery but had to compromise because too many wealthy slave owners were now entrenched in our economy. that compromise resulted in the three-fifths compromise and the banning of the Atlantic slave trade. sadly without the support of rich plantation owners the revolution likely would not have materialized at all, so they were forced to compromise. the idea that a symbol of the revolution would somehow be pro-slavery is ridiculous from the start.

If I were in their shoes I'd be furious and stressed out at the possibility of having to bring up an expensive lawsuit all because some stupid windbag doesn't understand basic American history. EDIT: woops, I thought the last sentence said "his parents must be laughing" but yes, if I were his friend, it would be funny.
