  1. I can name a couple of women who have done well directing and producing media, but it isn't anything mainstream. People like Roberta Williams who founded Sierra On-Line in the early 90s for example. The problem you're describing is really one of chicken and egg. Is the media bad because a woman is directing it? Or is a woman directing it because it was always going to be bad, as decided by someone with more money and influence than the woman, who was appointed simply because she was a woman?

  4.  NaNoRarh  She was a lead designer and writer for the games she worked on, was she not? That's definitely as much if not more involvement and creative capacity than a movie director.

  5.  NaNoRarh  I mean, Roberta Williams co-founded the company. I don't see how she wasn't also working in an executive capacity. I guess I'll have to read that book to see what you're talking about.

  6.  @bsbdptsd  I'm not optimistic enough to believe that there are only a few specific people ruining these companies. I believe that the women you see like Kathleen Kennedy are merely the face of the effort. She's there to take the heat from people like us while she delivers bad decisions, but the decisions aren't necessarily hers to make.
