  1.  @fluffypink6unny  That's the custom in east Asia, to wear a mask if you are the one who is sick so your fluids are only exposed to yourself. That's a key difference to how the practice is applied here. The belief is that everyone wears the mask because it will prevent them from possibly being sick when people breathe in their general vicinity. That's ridiculous.
