  1. This is why history is extremely important. Modern politics keeps getting reframed around political conflict that we had in the first half of the 20th century. Or that Europe had, at the very least. Anarchists are almost always useful pawns in the schemes of other radical authoritarian groups. They were in the Spanish Civil War. But anyone who talks about Fascism and Communism NEEDS to study this history thoroughly and not just the manifestos or "holy texts" of their chosen dogma. This isn't new shit any more, countries have tried these ideologies and failed several times.

  3.  @demmenhavvags6385  I'd rather there be brawls in Congress than on the streets, at least in Congress there are some actual stakes. In a typical street brawl between at most a few hundred people, there will be no significant impact on grassroots voting regardless of the outcome, unless one of the factions reaches a point where they are basically brownshirts that beat up anyone who shows allegiance to someone else
