  1.  @lydiazap7243  This is mostly spitballing, but I think it has to do a lot with where you live. Or where you walk through to get places. I live in Texas and quite frankly, I just don't experience a lot of what anyone on the coasts talk about all the time. The worst things that have happened to me are my bike got stolen (but I kinda expected it to happen, lived in a real busy part of town and my apartment had a porch on the edge of a busy road) and I was a block away from one homeless guy stabbing another in downtown Dallas while trying to get on the bus.
