  1. This has been a thing since Halo 1 on PC. These are similar to the earliest sorts of mods for that game, before the "Custom Edition" was released with full mod tools for the game which changed the landscape completely -- there's full campaign mods that change the game to use weapons from all the later games, entirely self-contained map files which also have mods in them -- so you'd load up one map in multiplayer and get a medieval map with only melee weapons like axes, crossbows, and rocks for grenades. Anyways, the mods back then were simpler stuff like making the pistol shoot plasma grenades, but I believe you could also do clowny stuff like make weapons shoot props. Nothing like those vehicle edits though, those are hilarious.
