@MothOW Normal people don't use Twitter. I've literally never met someone in real life that uses Twitter. It's a marketing platform. Maybe read from it, sure, but post on it, no.

I find it fun. Apparently, some people find it incredibly stressful. I have no idea why.

The key is finding the right place to go and have a discussion. You have to attract people who have the same motivation as you, whether it be to have a deep discussion or whatever else. Inevitably, there will be some guy who doesn't have the same motivation, but if you design the website or whatever correctly, the number of people will be minimized. That's why it (used to be) easier to have an in-depth discussion on 4chan than on Facebook or Twitter, because Facebook and Twitter have feel good points that incentivize people to post disingenuously for the purpose of gaining feel good points, or they're incentivized to troll harder because they can basically see the real person on the other end of the profile (depending on how much info you put in that website). Whereas even with all the shitposting on 4chan, the lack of any form of identity or status attached to your post keeps the discussion "pure." Of course, things have changed a lot since 2012 or so. Niche forums on the wild west Internet used to be much the same, except when forum mods went on a power trip and started trying to be assholes.

@Queen-ut1dy Why is that sad? Consider why you posted that comment, for example. Did you think it would somehow change my worldview? No, that would be very stupid -- and I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. So logically then, you must have posted this comment, which disagrees with mine, for your own satisfaction. Which means that you also enjoy arguing with random people on the internet.

@Queen-ut1dy But you are arguing. You just disagreed with me again and provided a logical explanation as to why you disagreed. However, this is the internet and you could have stopped replying at any moment -- in fact you should have, because you think arguing with strangers is sad. Yet you didn't. Why is that?

@lucasnadamas9317 No, you simply think I am sad. In reality, I'm quite amused and you have no definite way of knowing my emotional state. Unless, of course, you are a Solipsist, in which case I disregard your opinion anyway. I hope your smug satisfaction lasts whenever you're playing video games, browsing social media or doing anything else that isn't productive, and think to yourself: "Man, I could be arguing with strangers online right now."

DontListen ToMe Agreed, not every argument is enjoyable, but such is life. But if you do it for long enough, you can derive enjoyment out of any discussion which doesn't "stick to a script," in a manner of speaking. Consider for example, someone who is angry about something that a company did (say, a game developer for instance) and spams every thread on their discussion board with a boring message, something like "FUCK <DEVS> I WANT THE OLD PATCH BACK THEY DON'T DESERVE ANY MONEY." This guy is mad, and chances are he won't be doing this for very long. But while he is, it might be fun to mess with him if he reads replies to his post. People who are paid to spam are always boring because they don't ever change their responses, and likewise with people who have massive cognitive dissonance.
