  1.  @shogunpug4071  BG3 being AAA at all was a shock and mostly due to the massive license and Larian's previous titles. Every previous title was basically a AA title with surprisingly good voice acting, and DOS2 was particularly successful. However, mid-budget games used to have voice acting all the time and still do if they're from Europe, which still has a lot of mid-sized studios. It's similar to how CD Projekt Red was suddenly a AAA game studio when Witcher 2 and 3 came out.
