@lapislazuli06 weirdest fucking thing to me is that you could join the military, for free, and get basically this exact same experience but learn some useful skills along the way, also free college

@daslynnter9841 Therapy is arguably even higher effort than the military. You have to shop around for someone who actually 1.) gives a fuck and 2.) is capable of helping you. Shopping around for therapists who exist in your local area is difficult enough, based on the health insurance listings I've seen, which are over 6 months out of date. The ones you do find are likely to push pills on you, even over the phone without ever having met you. Mental health treatment is such a joke in America, but nobody cares.

@jackcoonrod5400 They really don't. I likely would not qualify with my vision. I can't shoot most rifles using iron sights because they're too small and hard for me to distinguish, so there's no way I'd pass basic marksmanship.

Sadly enough some men are likely in a position where that would be a massive improvement to their lives. People are lonely nowadays. Rich people have paid more for friends

Hate to shatter the illusion, but there are a lot of asshole vets out there. I will show sympathy to anyone who has been through combat, but it just doesn't give you the right to be a ginormous twat.
