@elettramia6380 It doesn't matter what term is used because it will always be a rather weird blanket term that ignores the different tribal lineages. It boils down to the preference of the individual you are speaking to at that given moment (and yes I have heard of some that prefer Indian simply because they dislike the idea of being renamed by outsiders several times)

@samuelhowie4543 No, Washington state is across the country. I find it ironic that they switched the image of the Washington team to the natives' primary enemy, colonial soldiers, although post-Civil War era soldiers probably killed more.

@samuelhowie4543 I'm a moron, would you believe I thought for my whole life that Washington Redskins were based in Washington state? I would have expected them to be called the D.C. Redskins. Oh well.
