Hand to hand combat is always possible and sometimes necessary. If someone grabs you or tries to push you suddenly for example, you can't respond to that with a firearm unless it's already drawn. I believe police studies have shown that you need to be at least 7 or 8 feet away in circumstances where an attacker intends to harm you (not the idiot in this video who apparently thought he could just bully the firearm user). Defensive training is key here, you should learn to defend against punches and possibly use that momentum against them to throw them off balance. Then you can draw.

 @flightnavigator8999 I don't think OC is a good idea for most citizens either, but you are aware that normal civilians can also have retention holsters (the same ones the cops use) right?
