@Orzorn They're baby boomers who only had crappy mass produced fruitcakes bought by their well-meaning but misled post-war parents who trust everything the government and corporations tell them to. It was customary to send fruitcakes to everyone you knew at Christmas, and this was a dumb custom because it incentivized buying the cheapest, crappiest cake possible. I have Stollen, a German fruitcake covered in powdered sugar, most Christmases. It's delicious.
