@sisuguillam5109 The division between "child" and "fetus" is entirely arbitrary and has shifted multiple times in the legalese. Compared to most other animals, humans basically raise their babies as fetuses that should still be in the womb -- that's why most animals can walk when they are born and don't take months to figure out how to do it. I'm not religious, but abortion should be a last resort and I dislike people who pretend that what they're doing is not just another form of culling for the sake of convenience. It's dishonest.

@daniel-zh9nj6yn6y Communism really has nothing to do with it. Marx did not even write his manifesto until after Nietzsche wrote his essays. It's an idea that won't ever be implemented correctly because there is no good decision mechanism to separate "people who want direction" from "people who are ambitious." But the division is abundantly clear to me. Why else do people consistently vote for a party that gives them welfare instead of opportunity? Because they do not care about opportunity, they just want to coast along in life.

@bobdobsin6216 Well said. When I read Nietzsche for the first time and saw him defend slavery as an institution from the "liberals," it was surprising, but I found myself thinking that it was difficult to prove him wrong, because his idea was that there are a lot of people who would be happier having their lives hashed out for them, while advocating for humane treatment. The only hitch is that you can't reliably identify who would rather lead, and who would rather be lead. It's usually not hereditary either. If we could do that, we'd probably have no strife in society.
