It sounds like a Hemingway short story to be honest

@EnigmaticRPG So is alcohol tolerance. That amount of booze was just enough "to get him through the working day" as they'd say in Dwarf Fortress.

@lisahinton9682 But you wrote that whole comment all because someone typed three letters at the end of their comment. And now I'm writing this useless comment. All of this chain of events could have been avoided in a parallel universe...

@xxfalconlifexx9715 The internet is probably the thing that will prevent us from descending into annihilating nuclear warfare, in my opinion. While misinformation was a huge problem in the past with yellow journalism and such, and still is, it isn't nearly as bad because information is so cheap and instantly transmissible that misinformation can be corrected by other sources just as fast. Additionally, people can make friends all over the world and gain an understanding of other cultures if they choose to, more easily than ever before. Keeping dangerous state secrets is harder than ever before as well. It's also cheap and becoming more and more available even in poorer countries, and if you're poor, it can be hard to find ways to spend your time depending on where you live. The internet can step in to fill that gap, and while it might not be the healthiest thing, it's better than alcoholism which many would turn to when bored (as shown in this video)
