@slaphappybullet Only the super modern EVs and certain other vehicles could be shut down directly by remote hacking. Everything is not interconnected on the same grid exactly and every vendor has different standards for security. What becomes a problem is when a vendor with a huge amount of market share or infrastructure control has a security hole.

@eat_ze_bugs That is actually not true. China cannot feed its population without importing food. Most people forget we are an agricultural powerhouse. They import tons of soy and pork from us.

@Jeff-zf6uy That will not work. Laws move slowly and technology moves fast. What standard will that be? You would have to use a relative standard, such as "the best security in the world," rather than an objective standard, like "512-bit encryption." Or you would need an audit/penetration testing. But who will do the testing? Government employees? That would likely be a joke.
