  1. There are moments of levity like when they have the mushroom tripping party. But yes, there's a lot inaccurate about it. Many of the figures portrayed are not even confirmed to exist, like the shieldmaiden, although she has a legend and a name.

If you're interested in Viking music, I would highly recommend Harald Foss and "Dråm" although the latter is post-Viking era Norse based on the instruments used, but only just (nyckelharpa, which is 12th century). I find the trope of using guttural vocals to signal how "tough" or "savage" a culture is to be very tired and shallow. Almost all cultures seemed to value good singing.
