  9. here's some of the things you're wrong about or are ignorant about. the cj5 was available with power loc clutch type lsd's which are extremely tight and durable and they will equal or better brake lock traction control, detroit lockers were invented for early jeeps the first widely available diff lock. free wheeling hubs were also invented for jeeps to save fuel, they were optional and can be left engaged indefinitely if you want, so you can put the tiny violin away about locking the hubs. all jeep cj's have shift on the fly 4wd, you don't have to stop or use the clutch to shift into 4wd you just back of the accelerator and pull the high range lever back into 4wd. it was noted that you tried to make it seem difficult. the parking brake is on the back of the transfer case so engaging that would do nothing for wheel traction. it doesn't work very well like lots of things on that jeep because its 62 years old and you haven't fixed anything. the cj5 has 2wd,4wd, high range and low range. the compass has constant 4wd a centre diff lock (high range 4wd) and no low range. so that leads us to facts all those trails the compass couldn't hope to do because it's not a true 4wd with low range well a lot of those trails were pioneered with a cj5. i also don't think we'll see any compass doing around the world expeditions, towing vehicles, digging trenches or drains, plowing fields or being used as forklifts. i doubt we'll even see a compass on the road in 62 years and we certainly won't see a 3 decade production run.
