1 toyota tax, toyota sell cheap crap for top dollar. 2 you're paying stealership prices 3 toyota in australia quite often own most stealerships (even the ones that don't sell toyota) in a town and the parts stores. when you own the stealerships and the parts stores, guess who's vehicles get fast parts delivery and who's don't, guess which vehicles get prompt service and warranty. and guess who gets to jack up prices.

for a long time now i've found it far easier to just order the exact part i need online and have it sent to my door. it takes too much time and too many stuff ups to buy from auto parts stores. a good example was buying a stop tail light bulb and some brake pads, they had the brake pads but not the bulb so i ordered two bulbs and took the brake pads. went home pulled the caliper off wrong brake pads, take them back order correct ones. go back in 3 days to collect parts "oh we had the brake pads you need anyway" proceed to hand me the exact same box of brake pads i returned, i explain that they are for a previous model and that i had given them the correct part number to order. try to tell me the computer say's they're for my year vehicle. they aren't it's not even a changeover year. i point out they didn't even order what i asked for so don't bother just get me the stop tail light bulbs. guy picks them up starts walking over and before he gets to the counter i tell him they're wrong too. he gets annoyed and say's that's what i ordered. so i tell him stop tail light bulbs aren't orange they're indicator bulbs and i won't bother anymore they're too incompetent.

if there was only a few hp here and there (especially on a motor producing 400hp+) it's a no brainer use electronic. because it will get those results tomorrow,next week, next month and next year. points take a lot of effort to keep at that level plus the additional cost.
