  1. advanced alien civilization capable of cloning and creating hybrid organisms, but can't perform a relatively simple chemical reaction to produce salt. this is why it sounds like bullshit. And if their body chemistry used something other than salt as a conductor, you would think that would be an important thing to recognize when speaking of their lack of salt.
