  1. cape york peninsula is a 4wd and motorcyclists bucket list adventure. because of the wet and dry season the rivers become impassable in the wet season so access is cut off. so it remains sparsly inhabited. in the dry season it's somewhat of a challenge for 4wd's and motorcycles as the tracks are impacted by flooding creating obstacles especially at the beginning of the dry. i highly recommend you watch "cape york motorcycle adventure" by motorcycle adventure dirtbike tv on youtube. there is also thousands of cape york 4wd videos of the old coach road, the frenchmans track and the telegraph track. i sailed a 14' windrush sailing catamaran (trac 14 in usa) up the coast of cape york with my dad from the daintree to the tip while my mum and sister drove the jeep cj6 and met up with us on the coast at a few spots on the way when i was 11 years old. it was a great adventure. i saw waves, crocodiles and sharks bigger than the boat.
