  1. rear track is narrower than the front track because they added coils widened the front axle to fit and left the rear as is so the back wheels don't follow in the front tracks which effects handling and offroad performance drastically. Alternator is mounted underneath the engine and fails on a wet dirt road. air filter doesn't seal properly, dusting the motor (which is 40k for a toyota warrantied motor) front hubs are weak, front diff is weak. the windows fall out of the track and drop on rough roads. the glass falls out of the mirrors. the "snorkel" is 3 piece and isn't sealed so it's not a snorkel it's a cold air intake. they ride rough as guts. they use 16l of diesel per hundred. they have engine failures due to egr. the rear leaf springs and plates hang way down underneath the diff and catch on everything. they're heavy af they're next to useless offroad if you want to get an idea of what it would cost you to try and use one of these for long offroad trips with a bit of moderate wheeling for 3 years watch " how much has the mits79 cost us since owning it " you'll have to take your rose coloured glasses off.
