  1. they are common, they can grow over 6' long. being an apex predator large ones typically aren't shy even if they've had limited contact with humans, they wouldn't usually attack unless you mess with them, but they can mistake a person for a tree if startled and run up their body and they have long extremely sharp claws. they are venomous but aren't deadly the venom lowers blood pressure and promotes bleeding they have lots of very sharp teeth even an accidental touch from the teeth will slice your skin. contrary to popular belief their mouths are extremely clean unless they've just been feeding on a carcass. they're regular visitors to my backyard and they'll even stroll in the house looking for food if the doors left open. but despite all they're really nothing to worry about if you keep your distance and respect them and i'm always happy to see them.
