  1. perentie can grow to almost 10 feet long. it may not be the biggest lizard in australia though, over the years there's been a few sightings of giant lizards believed to be the extinct megalania which grew to 23' long. and the initial reaction might be sure just a few crackpot sightings a bit like bigfoot, but one of the sightings was by a very experienced herpetologist (reptile expert) that's enough to make you think twice about it.
