australia definitely doesn't have the same road quality because it's a huge country. but for all the efficiency and safety of european roads and drivers i think i'd much rather not have that level of conformity and government regulation. i like the gravel roads, i like undulating roads with corners, i like roads that have variety where you have to pay attention and drive the car not just sit there in the cookie cutter car driving like robots.

@amaroaverna923 the longest straight stretch of highway in australia is 145km long it's on the nullabor plain which is 1100km long and mostly flat and mostly straight roads. the netherlands is only 312km north to south and 264km east to west. 42,000km sq and a poulation of 17.4 million. saying something like if you need to drive 12hrs to your next destination then your country probably lacks infrastructure is ignorant, the nullabor plain has an area of 200,000km sq and a population of 50 people.

@amaroaverna923 lets compare countries then, steep point in western australia to byron bay nsw is 5000km by highway and would take 55hrs non stop driving 12hrs non stop driving a day would take 4.6 days. driving 8hrs a day would take 6.9 days
