  1. most places in australia you don't get served, it's only really sit down restaurants and some cafes you'll know if you're going to be served at the table because they'll give you a number on a stand to put on the table. some places will give you a buzzer to take to the table that lets you know when your food is ready for you to collect or they'll call your number or put it on a screen. most bars you go and buy you're own drinks as needed. also it might not be mandatory but you usually tidy your table before you go. places like mcdonalds etc you put your tray back and rubbish in the bin so all the staff have to do is a quick spray and wipe of the table.
