  1. the kookaburra laugh is used as sound effect in a lot of movies especially for jungle/forest scenes. for us it's weird hearing a kookaburra and then a monkey noise or some animal we don't have in aus. but for non australians it's there to add suspense.

  3. they steal your meat off the bbq plate while you're cooking it. you can tell the difference between aussies and tourists at a campground, because the aussies won't take their eyes off the meat. the tourists throw some meat on turn around for a second no more meat on the bbq. then the kookaburra sits in the tree and laughs at them.
