i think neither ford or holden moved with the times, they were both in the market of building large family sedans in australia and all the smaller cars were rebadged cars of other brands. in holdens case selling daewoo rebadged as holden hurt their brand if peoples first cars were small japanese, korean, taiwanese cars there second cars medium sized from the same manufacturers why would they buy a large family sedan from ford or holden, they didn't they'd be more likely to buy a 4wd. i think if ford and holden built mid sized cars like the cortina and torana again they would've captured more sales than selling just large family sedans.
