i've been stung quite a few times by stinging trees and gympie gympie (both in the same family). it's not as bad as people make out. think of it like a cactus if you got a small prick on the arm it's not a huge deal but if you fall into a big patch of it you're in trouble. you also hear bullshit stories about it like people wiping their arse with it, highly doubtful as you can't even hold a leaf when it's stinging you.
