you're historian got so much wrong it's hard to remember everything that needs to be addressed. the top speed is 70mph it was one of the design requirements, 60mph is the max recommended speed. this is one of the main reasons the willys design was chosen because of it's far more powerful motor. if that jeep doesn't get to 50-60mph easily on flat ground it has issues. the windscreen folds down for a lower battlefield silhouette, for a lower transport size, to fit in aircraft and because it's always best to shoot over your windscreen than through it. and the big one why is it so iconic, because it was pivotal in winning the war, the 4wd was revolutionary and the jeep replaced horses and motorcycles with sidecars. it could go faster and carry more and gave the allies a huge advantage.
