  1. i live in Australia i bought a grey market samsung from an australian website but a hong kong company. i knew nothing about grey market phones until after placing the order, i read about phones being blocked, region locked, not getting updates etc etc and thought i was screwed. so far my a54 works flawlessly including updates and 5g it has 256gb storage, 8gb ram and was $150 cheaper than the locally available a54 128gb 6gb ram. what i did find out is australia has "approved sellers" these are the telco companies and select big corporation stores only and they are engaged in price fixing they all sell the same phone at exactly the same price. when i purchased mine they were all within $1.80 in price and a week after i got mine they all discounted by $100 at the same time. so not only is samsung only selling the lower spec version the "approved sellers" are inflating and fixing prices in some sort of non competition agreement. and from what i can tell these "approved sellers" are for all popular brands not just samsung so basically the market is rigged you get what you're given and there's basically no price competition.
