those sandy areas are more likely wind blows. beach sand accumulates on beaches and is blown by prevailing winds engulfing vegetation and because it's shifting, vegetation can't establish itself there. also you would expect erosion on coastal ranges to be different to inland ranges as the coastal ranges take the brunt of the wind sheltering inland ranges. i'm not dismissing your tsunami theory, but i am more skeptical of your visual evidence being entirely tsunami related.
