  7. ​ @speedkar99  Many people whose cars are on the verge of roadworthy haven't the time/money nor the skill you do, and are thus priced off the road. Many are also told by dealership service advisors or even some indie mechanics that "it'd cost more to fix it than it's worth" and scrap on that basis, which doesn't account for ongoing car ownership costs. People like you describe exist, but I certainly doubt they predominate.
