The skills are transferable, but of the cars listed in the description, only Accord, TL and TSX (and Civics up to year 2000) are double wishbone. So if your car doesn't have some of these parts, don't freak out! It's fine.

7:21 Power steering fluid is the second-best "free" penetrant available in a scrap yard (or scrap car). The very best is brake fluid, of course.

@speedkar99 Brake fluid is an amaaaaaaazing penetrant. Try it next time. PS fluid isn't half as good, but it's better than nothing in a pinch.

@speedkar99 It helps that you're not in the industry. So many of these clowns get sucked into spending thousands at the Snap-On and/or Mac truck every year! It doesn't make them better techs, either.

@JodBronson Like I said, dumbass, working as an engineer is worth more than the cost of taking the car to the shop. So, less paid engineering work means LESS money in the pocket. Ugh.

And, for the few a mechanic does wear out that often, you keep spares. Honestly, if that's the garbage you have to spew to justify being in hawk to some millionaire Snap-Off franchisee for your entire career, fine. Just know that it's stupid, and telling this garbage to the generations following you into the trade -- again, this assumes you're not a paid Snap-Off troll...hard to tell! -- will hurt them in the long run. You may not know this because you have more money than brains, but new techs make LESS MONEY. Don't reply with your trash again. I have zero patience for this advertorial ignorance! P.S. Many cheap tools come with warranties.

If you were sincere, you'd mention the cost of "ratchet #1" vs. "ratchet #2", or the fact that any mechanic worth his salt will go to the parts store anyway. You also didn't assimilate the idea of keeping spare tools to hand, or the fact that many "cheap" tools come with a warranty, both of which I just fucking mentioned. You're ridiculous, and young techs not made of money will shun your terrible advice advertising OUT OF NECESSITY. In short, fuck you and your employer (SNAP-OFF).
