  1. Chess boards and cars are examples of personal property in the communist/socialist sense, not private property. It's not like they had communal toothbrushes in the USSR, for example. Private property is specifically land, and the prohibition on ownership was conceived to eliminate ungodly inheritances of vast tracts even as poor people have nowhere to live and/or no land to work in the case of farmers.
